I've eaten Ethiopian and the flavor is definitely in the neighborhood of what I have eaten but importantly I LOVE how it tastes! I suppose if you really want to get an authentic flavor you can make your own spice mix or go to an Ethiopian market if you are lucky enough to live near one! :) Still, the flavor is smoky and spicy and tangy and bright all at once. Delicious when we make roasted chick peas. Best blend we have tried and we actually went to a fancy spice place in town that sold a blend but we like this better.

Love the spice and flavor of it. Has a bit of heat, but not bad at all if you like spicy. Probably little spicy if you can't handle heat.

Glad I added this blend to my pantry. Very much captured the aroma and flavor of the East African crossroads. Wonderful in a variety of dishes and prepared proteins, from chicken to goat.

I love this stuff. It has a spicy kick but not to hot. I can't eat very hot foods and this was just right. This is the real stuff here.

A better substitute for Mitmita than Berbere. The blend my friends bring from Ethiopia just tastes completely different. It's hot, but missing that addictive flavor

I love it on chicken or turkey in my air fryer. It has just the right amount of spice to not be too over-powering and it goes great with sambal olek.
