This silicone bin is a happy addition to my kitchen. Being able to freeze compostables to store them until trash day means no stinky, decaying mess sitting outside in my green bin for days. First - it works well as advertised - hooking it onto a drawer just below my kitchen counter when I am chopping vegetables. I fill the bin with compostables, then put it in my kitchen freezer. When compostables are frozen, I open a small biodegradable or paper bag on my kitchen counter, invert the bin into the bag, then push down the bin with both hands. The silicone sides of the bin collapse and the frozen compostables slide out of the bin into the bag. Then the bin can be rinsed and dried, ready for the next batch of compostables. I put the newly filled bag of already frozen compostables into a freezer in my garage. On trash day I take those bags to my green recycle bin, empty the contents into the bin and put the used bags in my trash can. I have an additional covered ceramic bowl in my kitchen to collect compostables. If my silicone bin is full in the freezer, once I empty it I can immediately fill it again from the kitchen bowl and the bin goes back into the freezer. The other advantage here is that if you put frozen compostables into a bag and put the bag in the freezer, the bag is easily emptied on trash day. The frozen compostables do not get stuck to the bag. If you put wet compostables in a bag and put that bag in the freezer, the compostables get stuck to the sides of the bag and are difficult to remove. The silicone bin is is working great for me - I’m really glad I purchased it.

Works great! Fits perfectly into the side of my freezer, easy to clean and makes it easy to collect all my compost and take it out at night.

We had to put our compost bucket outside after a summer tiny fly issue we were trying to resolve. However, that led to us using it less. So I’m search of a way to keep us composting more and avoiding smell/flies, having something in our freezer was the perfect solution. Very easy to clean.

Our state now requires organics recycling where we put food scraps into the green/organics bin. I didn't want a even a small bin on my counter because I didn't want to draw ants plus my counter space is fairly small. This little freezer bin works perfectly in my freezer drawer. When It's full I dump it into a BPI certified compostable bag which gets put back into the freezer or taken out to the organics bin.

Product is flimsy and not well made. Not worth the money.

This is a wonderful item! I didn’t realize when I bought it how much it would fit into my life. Holds a reasonable amount before walking out to the garden andfits perfectly into the shelving on the door of my freezer keeping the right amount before I walk out to the compost pile. But.I only generate a small amount of garden refuse..might be too small for a larger family. Still.works perfectly for me.

Place bin in the freezer and when bin is full, dump scraps into blender/food processor to advance degrading then place blended mix into garden composter. Perfect gift solution for that green thumb gardener or you, yes you the compositing aficionado!

Researching compost options can be overwhelming. Your search ends here. This fits easily into freezer and has NO smell or fruit flies. It cleans easily with soap and water. No bag requires but you can use a compost bag if you want. It’s easy to pull out of the freezer and lay on the counter as you chop vegetables. The only drawback is that it’s small. I usually have to empty it after 4 uses/1-2 times a week. That I can live with!

Bought for my husband to use during food prep. He rolled his eyes at me at first, but now he has seen the light! Perfect to collect all the peels and odd bits whilst chopping veg to then toss over our fence for the compost pile.

I love to compost. But I hate fruit flys and the nasty smell of the traditional way of collecting table scraps. Putting it in my freezer has been a good experience. No flys. No rotten food on the counter. This is the bin for everyone.

I'd recommend this product. We use it for scraps set to go to our compost bin. My husband wished it was bigger but I like that it forces us to empty it out more often so it doesn't stink!

I love these little bins! I have one for compost and one for trash. I have them in my camper and I hang them on the drawer below my stove and it takes up little space and doesn't impede on my workspace or walking path.. Long lasting and easy to clean. Very durable.

I've had an under-cabinet compost bin for a while, but it doesn't do well when there is fruit rinds or banana peels in it. Seems like the fruit flies come out of nowhere as soon as we put old fruit in the bin. This has been perfect as it fits neatly in the freezer and we can put food scraps in it as soon as they become available. They freeze, thus keeping flies (and mold) away. I dump the frozen contents in the compost bin outside or the worm bin in the basement and things compost as they should with no flies! Great option for those that love to compost but hate the flies.

Hangs right on my draw put a plastic bag inside. I put vegetable scraps inside then my trash doesn't smell.

I used to have something like this but not very sturdy . I knew when I saw this it was for me . I’m very pleased with this container it’s just the right size .

I had been looking for a counter top compost bin for quite some time and ran across this one for the freezer. I like the idea of having this option. We use it and still use a counter top bin. This bin fits perfectly in one of the door shelves, making it convenient to use. It holds enough to make trips to the outside compost pile a little less often.

While I understand you can put this in the fridge to avoid fruit flies, it would be nicer if it had a lid. Then it would not take up precious real estate in the fridge and still avoid the fruit flies.

Fits in the freezer door perfectly and handle allows for easy removal once near full. Speaking of fullness it's small but large enough to actually hold a good amount eliminating daily trips to outside compost bin.
