Used to replace woofers in old home-made speaker boxes. These are great in little 2-way systems. Good sound with plenty of presence for piano and vocals. Solidly built.

I put this speaker in a 15 watt Marshall guitar amplifier. It smokes, it added all that much tone quality to an already great practice amp. It was an experiment, putting a 200 watt car speaker in a guitar amplifier but it was a great combination.

As a hobbyist speaker builder, always wanted to see how whizzer cones / point source react. Huh, way better than expected! Built a sealed box, apx 1 cubic foot, thinking a ported box may fair better with the lows (next build)Running a subwoofer with these, without the sub there is plenty of bass in a smaller room. Mids and highs are great, does the job. Sound stage and instrument separation are incredible! Sensitivity guessing low to mid 90's DB.The magnets are larger than expected, this is a beefy speaker for the money. Highly recommended. Delivery less than 3 days. Totally happy with these.

I put these in an old (circa 1968) Radio Shack Criterion 77 enclosures. All speakers were not working or bad. With some adjustment for the screw holes and soldering the leads, they sound good. Good as a $500 pair, no! Good as my $200 Polks I have in another room? Better. Good as my re-speakered Bose 301s? Yes. These speakers are now in the computer room connected to a 30 year old amp and tuner. All this is low, or no tech. I have no instruments, gear, testers, resistance indicators and assorted other stuff guys like to talk about. Just my ears, that are old enough to appreciate my first Living Stereo album I bought in 1958 at the age of 16. I still have it.

I replaced old rotted 10-inch speakers with these 8-inch speakers using 1/2 plywood plates I made. I am thrilled with the sound quality! The boxes were Radio Shack Realistic Nova 18. It is a fun little project. (Plywood, jig saw, drill, wire, soldering iron, screws, nuts and bolts). The sound is much better than the old 10-inch speakers when they were new! The old speakers were all thump bass and treble but lacking the midrange frequency response needed for human voice. With the GRS 8FR-8 Full-Range 8 Pioneer Type B20FU20-51FW replacement speakers, I now have bright and clear well-rounded sound!

Used this to replace the blown speaker in my fiance's portable speaker. It was a surprise and she loves it. Great buy for the price.

I have an old set of Radio Shack speakers, the woofers blew out, put these in while they were not a perfect fit, they fit well, the sound however is fantastic, much better than the original woofers. BTW, the electric connections are 2.8 mm on both lugs.

Used on the very first Philco - 1928 511 series. For 1928 only, speakers were external to the cabinet for table models but console models included speakers in the cabinet. Console models were designated 53X.

Got a very good sound from this speaker in a traditional 11 x 22 x 11 (2,666 cubic inch -- 1.5 cubic feet) 3/4 plywood folded horn enclosure with a cheesy 2 pole crossover (definitely not a sharp cutoff) starting at around 2KHz. No mid-range speaker. Used a plastic sealed back horn tweeter initially. Changed to a cast metal sealed back horn tweeter later, but it really made no difference that I could hear.Bass was strong enough to justify reinforcing the long side of the enclosure back and sides with a 1x 3 oak bar solidly glued and tacked down the middle (the front is reinforced by the shelf that makes the enclosure a folded horn -- or at least slot loaded).Used a few bats of upholstery padding as acoustical dampening to get rid of booming. The nice thing about upholstery batting is that it stays where you put it and doesn't interfere with the speaker over time.In the end, driving this this speaker/enclosure pair with an amplifier that delivers an honest 15 watts RMS blows the socks off plastic enclosures when it comes to full range music like jazz classical. It won't go to the chest thumping bass of club music -- the speaker is only 8 and there's no replacement for speaker diameter when it comes to shaking the room. All in all, this little speaker has the makings of a great sounding listening system.

A great all around full range speaker for the money. Used them to replace some old dry rotted speakers in somesolid wood cabinets. Sounds good and can handle the volume well. Recommend them highly. They are full range -not a woofer.

I put these in some MCM Custom Audio 8 enclosures that I've used as my main monitors for my Play Back Music I've recorded and Man... I've Cranked these up HARD... and they're still taking Punishment... I got these from Parts Express some years ago... Some times I get my gear from them... Make sure you put some type of dampening material in the enclosures so the bass comes out better... I use the material that goes into pillow cushions ( W/mart.. cheap too ) Oh... Make sure you solder the connections for a better connectivity...
