Changing the faces and handles of hammers is simple. The clamping pressure on the handle and faces is uniform with malleable iron heads. 12 34" length, oval 1" by 7/8" replacement handle for Garland 53003 #3 Split Head hammer 31003. This handle can accommodate 1" by 7/8" oval-eyed tools.

The split head of split-head hammers, which are comparable to soft-face hammers, contains tips. For long-lasting use, rawhide tips are compressed under hydraulic pressure and seasoned. They aid in the delivery of powerful punches from a striker's face without affecting the completed product. They're ideal for woodworking applications that require connecting joints. Instead of screwing in the tips, disassemble the heads into halves and clamp them in place.
