Hi, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to finding the right tool for the job. I'm an electrician and frequently need to cut precise holes in walls, usually cement like plaster, not just drywall, as most of the houses I work on were built in the '50s and earlier. This was about the fourth product that I've tried, and it works perfectly. For me the two most important features are that you can replace the blades with standard recip saw blades, and that the handle can be bent to provide better ergonomics when using it. Plus having a unit that is rugged and holds up to the demands of cutting through hard plaster and occasionally lathe strips is important too. This saw works wonderfully. The twist lock mechanism that locks the blade in was getting a bit sticky, but I know that i could have used some WD-40 if it got too bad and that would have fixed it up, as there isn't much that WD-40 won't unstick.I lost track of my original unit on a jobsite just two days ago and feel bereft without it. I won't even buy anything else to use temporarily until this arrives because I haven't seen anything at the local hardware stores that even begin to compare. I'll lug out my recip saw in place of this until the new one arrives.Definitely worth every penny!UPDATE:Broke after 18 months. I use this thing about once a week, so not heavily used. After searching around for any other options, I ordered another one as soon as the old one broke. There seems to be no real competition on the market, so I'm not going to lose sleep if I have to replace this once in a while. There are some folding hole saws out there that also use recip saw blades, but if those things break the blade could close on your fingers, which cannot happen with this particular style.
