I believe I was recommended this by Roy at Christ Centered Iron Works, and sometimes when I see things working online and on YouTube it just makes sense to bring those tools into your purview of ease and use!

The tip does last I have had this for a while now and the tip it still providing crisp easy to see lines.

Works great on steel when fabricating

I have owned a few of these scribbers and used them for almost 30 years. I submitted a picture of mine on the right, and the new one on the left. First of all it is Chinese garbage now, I do realize this was mentioned in the description.....but....the first pic they are showing, their show case picture is not the one you will receive. If you zoom in on the first picture you can even read USA on the pocket holder. You obviously aren't getting the older, better made USA brand. The magnet is small, construction bulky and the knurling is aggressive compared with the older style.Cycle through the photos to see the proper garbage you will receive. Shame on General tools, it's pretty hard to mess up such a simple device.....but you sure as heck did with this one.

And buying one with a magnet on the end was a stroke of genius on my part. I figured that would be useful for picking up small nuts or washers. It is, but what's much better about it is I can hang it from metal in my work area. Lights, shelves, brackets, whatever, I stick it to a handy metal surface and it's right at my fingertips. THAT was smart on my part. The tip is adjustable in out, so that's a bonus. It looks nice, is reasonably well made, and functional enough. If you need a scribe, this one will do.

This awesome tool works great I love it specially when I'm working with pixie glass
