This is a combination photoelectric smoke alarm and electrochemical sensor carbon monoxide alarm engineered to virtually eliminate nuisance alarms and deliver reliable smoke and CO protection. It has two set of contacts that activate independently for smoke and CO annunciation.

Lasts for a decade, you do need to replace batteries as it doesn't last 10 but maybe 5 years.

These things are loud! They do tend to set off pretty easily though. Anytime I turn on a burner on my stove (12 feet away) the heat from it sets it off, which does tend to get annoying.
