Mission: Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue was formed to facilitate the rescue of Draft and Draft Cross horses from slaughter, abuse, and neglect.

Results: Thanks to the support of our generous donors, we are able to provide best in class care to over 150+ horses at any given time.

Programs: Gentle Giants rescues, rehabilitates, retrains, and rehomes draft and draft cross horses who were at risk of being sold to slaughter or had been abused or neglected. We also have a Technical Large Animal Rescue team who is trained to assist in large animal emergency rescue and response. Additionally, to reduce equine suffering and to improve the equine economy, Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue has launched Operation G. E. L. D. (gelding equals less death), the first gelding program of its kind in Maryland.
