I have an average size men's head and this fits well. Not too tight, and not loose, either. The material is soft and stretchy. I would recommend it.

This beanie is thick and warm. It's right on my big head but it has good stretch. It's pretty rough material but that's exactly what I was expecting. I like it.

I've purchased 2 Wigwam's at over $16 and they are good. This one is slightly lighter which is perfect for the bitter cold of winter in Southern California (40 degrees). When I revisit Minneapolis in the winter I will wear the heavier Wigwam. I've survived in CA for 25 years without going to winter land once.Bottom line, the Rothco is my go too and the Wigwam's are my go someday whilst they languish in mothballs. Highly recommend the Rothco!

I took this hat on a 3-month fall/winter expedition in the Wyoming/Utah back country. I wore it mainly at night when temps dropped, but during the day as winter came on as well. i didn't find it to be scratchy or itchy. It worked well.
