Mission: Our mission is to teach teen girls positive skill sets that will influence healthy choice making, create strong self-esteem and build bright futures. Through teaching our 12 Leadership Principles and SEL skill sets our goal is to help girls stay on track, dream big and stay in school through college to be our next generation of leaders. We equip girls with the tools and skill sets to thrive emotionally, financially and academically. These SEL skills also help prevent suicides, pregnancy, addiction and other derailing life events.
Results: Girls Rule is an Arizona based 501c3 nonprofit that offers 4 life-changing programs for girls to help them build bright futures! Everything we do is to inspire, educate and empower teen girls to thrive!
Target demographics: Girls ages 12-16
Direct beneficiaries per year: 1250 girls and their moms/grandmothers
Geographic areas served: Arizona and 1 national after-school program
Programs: Our 5 Empowerment & Leadership Programs:1.dreamLABs After-School Club – a 12-week club for girls 12-18.Middle School kits, high school kits and spanish kits available. Available nationwide. Open a club in any location with your group of girls. 2.Wings to Fly Summer Camp– Two sessions of camp. One for middle school and one for high school held in Northern Arizona in 2020.3.Shine Brightly Monthly Summit – Quarterly workshop held in Phoenix, AZ designed specifically for teen girls and their mom (or dad/guardian/mentor) who support them. Based in our 12 leadership principles. 4.The Brilliant, Beautiful & Bold Role Model Awards & Mentoring Program – Nominations open statewide in Sept 13 2019 and close Oct 21 2019.Annual Awards Reception Nov 9,2019 where 6 girls will be awarded $1000 to further their dream and 1 year of leadership mentoring. 5.Join our #GirlsChangeTheWorld movement! – We use our social media platforms, our APP and Tshirts to spread messages of empowerment, encouragement and leadership. “Empowered girls become empowered women who change the world”.
