Mission: In understanding the developmental pathways that can lead girls to delinquency, it may help to consider what girls need for a healthy development while also recognizing the challenges that may put them at greater risk of delinquency. For example: Their need for physical safety and healthy physical development; Challenged by poverty, homelessness, violence, inadequate health care, inadequate nutrition, substance abuse. Their need for trust, love, respect, validation from caring adults to foster healthy emotional development and form positive relationships; Challenged by abandonment, family dysfunction, poor communication. The need for positive female role models to develop healthy identity as a woman; Challenged by sexist, racist, homophobic messages, lack of community support. Need to belong, to feel competent and worthy; Challenged by weakened family ties, negative peer influences, academic failure, low self-esteem.

Target demographics: To help young women strive further than their own expectations with the aim toward developing young girls into successful women.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Last yeay we have helped 31 young ladies.

Geographic areas served: Our mission is to build our girls self-esteem and social skills by exploring the diversities in their lives and by encouraging economic awareness [in the community] so that they can be respectable forces of women in the world.

Programs: We offer a significant mentoring program with our advocators from our local colleges and prominently young ladies that live in our community.
