Programs: Give A Note Foundation (GAN) annually recognizes school music programs led by creative music educators utilizing innovative and sustainable strategies in non-traditional or traditional K-12 music classes with the Music Education Innovator Award (MEIA). These outstanding innovators increase access to music education and student participation through diversity in curriculum and approach. The MEIA is awarded to schools with programs that have significant potential for utilizing $4,000 grants to build upon programmatic success to date, focusing efforts on driving lasting change in a school or district. Recognized music educators serve as Innovative Ambassadors in the field and complete follow up impact reports conducted by GAN to allow other schools and districts to learn from their model programs. In addition to receiving grant funds, the award recipients are given ongoing professional development opportunities and training through key partner relationships, networking and mentorship.
