Mission: Godparents for tanzania creates opportunities to live lives of self-sufficiency and promise by investing in education and building relationships between sponsors and tanzanian youth. In 2017, godparents for tanzania provided scholarships to 54 primary, secondary, vocational, college and university students in tanzania. Godparents for tanzania also provided grants to 2 education projects in 2017.

Programs: In 2017, godparents for tanzania provided scholarships totaling $95046 to 54 tanzanian students who would not otherwise be able to continue their education. These students come from the kilimanjaro and arusha regions of northern tanzania and study at schools in tanzania. Scholarship funds are administered by tanzanian volunteers, who also monitor students' progress. American staff and volunteers also visit tanzania annually to interview each student.

in 2017, godparents for tanzania provided grant awards totaling $17,969 to 2 education projects in tanzania. The grants were awarded to 1) hai institute of technology, a vocational training center; and 2) door of hope maasai ministry, a residential home for maasai girls from rural villages who attend primary school in an urban setting. Project funds are administered by tanzanian volunteers, who also monitor project progress. American staff and volunteers travel to tanzania annually to visit project sites and meet with local project coordinators.
