Goldwood 5 8 Ohm... I replaced the bass speakers in an Optimus (Pro LX-511) pair I use for sound field fill in a surround system. I'm happy with the results, but I had to space these speakers back away from the aperture because their foam surrounds touched the edge of the cutout. I used grommets (0.330 OD, 0.156 ID, 0.270 High), 1 at each mounting screw, didn't tighten the screws. To assure the screws would not come loose, I put RTV on them. (See photo) Been using the system for 2 weeks, no buzzing; checked screws, all OK. I will track performance and report any long term degradation of the speakers and mounting system.

Replaced the woofers in a pair of LX5II with rotted surrounds. They are rear-mounted and fit easily, with a good seal and enough clearance for the slightly wider surrounds, thanks to the gasket. (Driver is actually centered, but looks off in the pic due to camera angle.) I soldered the wires due to different sized connectors. Easy repair. My original LX5 drivers are 6 ohm, these are 8. They sound fine for our purposes (low volume background music,) but a more ambitious person would probably want to modify the crossover accordingly. Not sure how they compare to the originals (because the originals have rotted surrounds, obviously.) Goldwood also has a 4 ohm version available.Great price for the pair

These Goldwood speakers fit perfectly in the original speaker box. They are a full range speaker with 70 watts rms rating. Used these for the surround sound center channel. They have very good sound quality at a good price for a pair of them. They arrived quickly and in good condition.

I bought these speakers as replacement drivers for my Aiwa CX-NAJ24U bookshelf stereo. I didn't get pictures of the drivers before I put them in the speakers, oops! The fit was almost perfect. A little off but I was able to make it work. They deliver a great sound for the price! The drivers have a good weight and appear to be make from great materials. I have no complaints!

I like the rubber surrounds, experience with 'foam' surrounds is very bad, even with high-end Altec-Lansing speakers - foam will eventually melt/dissolve into a sticky glue. I have old Goldwood woofers with rubber surrounds that sound fantastic with no surround issues.

I had quality outdoor speakers that gave up the ghost. Replacements would have cost alot so I swapped out the speakers with these. They sound outstanding with plenty of bass. Great price too!

I used these to replace the OEM speakers in my Optimus Pro LX5 bookshelf speakers and the work excellent. I first replaced only the one that had completely failed and they sounded good. Since A) I bought a pair and B) If one has failed the other will soon I replaced the 2nd too. (The foam surround rings disintegrated after 30 years of service-ie cone to basket gasket). The hardest part of the installation was determining the size of terminal connector size. A little 1 x 1 piece of paper with the terminal size (.25, .187, .137 etc) would have been most helpful, better yet already soldered on with 3 lead wires, that would have ben perfect.
