My 12-year old draft induction motor was making a whine at start-up, sounded like a jet engine starting. Figured it was on it's last leg, so I got a replacement while I could, and part was not discontinued (yet). Perfect fit, easy install, screw holes line up. Three years now, no problems. Highly recommend.

This inducer motor fit properly into place and seems to be operating just fine. Service tech quoted almost $700 to replace this motor; I did it myself in 20 minutes.

My HVAC guy told me last fall my motor assembly might last another couple of years before it needs to be replaced. So, I asked him how much that would run me. He said $1k installed. I then asked him to tell me the name of the part and I would order it on my own. I try to do whatever I can at my home myself, but I'm not the greatest with mechanical things. After about 1.5 hours of heavy sweating, I managed to get this in, and it works great! After the install, there are a few things I would highly recommend making it easier! Do it with a partner who can shine a flashlight on the furnace. Take a video on your phone of how everything is hooked up (there are some hoses, wires and screws) before you take your old one out. And finally, make SURE you use at least a 6 socket extension. I somehow made it through with a 3 but my hands (and patience) really paid for it! The smaller screws that mount it to the back of your furnace is quite the challenge to get in, even after you line it up exactly w/ the hole. All in all, I'm glad I did the install and saved the money!

This is a great replacement part. Wish it could have come more quickly, but it works great after an easy install. HOWEVER, as other reviews have noted, despite the picture, there is no drain port on this part if you are replacing this in a HORIZONTAL installation (like an attic instead of a basement).IF YOU ARE INSTALLING IN A HORIZONTAL FURNACE, YOU ALSO NEED GOODMAN PART RF000142.That part attaches to the output of this fan housing, collects the condensate, and allows for connection to the drain line. I'm now waiting for that part to arrive before I run my furnace to avoid damaging this new inducer fan. Hope this helps you.
