Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: Animal welfare

Programs: Gnhcp works to alleviate the suffering of feral, abandoned and stray cats through a trap/neuter/return program. Gnhcp also helps low income cat owners to spay/neuter their animals to prevent additional feral, abandoned or stray cats. For sterilized cats who cannot be socialized or returned to their original home environment due to an unsafe environment or irregular feeding, we locate "barns" or other rural, outdoor environments where they will have shelter and food. In 2017, gnhcp spayed/neutered/assisted 518 feral, stray, abandoned or low income owned cats.

gnhcp's adoption program placed 104 cats and kittens in permanent homes in 2017.We do this by giving a limited number temporary homes in our center. Others go into foster care where volunteers work to socialize them until a permanent home can be found. In addition, we foster, advertise and maintain a website for cats and kittens available for adoption and we collaborate with other organizations' adoption programs.
