My finicky dog likes this and will take his meds. However, my non-finicky dog can somehow smell the pill in this wrap, if it's a large capsule. He can take tiny round pills covered in this. As a result, I have to wrap the wrap in some type of meat, which isn't always successful. I have been able to stick the UNWRAPPED capsule in a baked apple slice with no problem.

My cat that needs medicine hates this even though the medicine is covered completely. You would think a chubby cat would like to eat this especially when he will eat silicone if you let him. But, my 1 year old cat loves it. I contacted the seller before I bought this and they also said that cats most likely won't want it. I've tried sticking it to a temptation treat as recommended, my cat still won't take it. My conclusion is maybe 90 percent of cats won't like this since I've also tested it on my other cats, reading reviews, and information from the seller. I'm still happy with my purchase, it was a good attempt and maybe my cat will warm up to it with the 1 year old being his competition.

I had to edit my review. At first, it didn't work for my cat. He has a very tiny pill and only takes half. I wrapped it in a small amount of bacon flavor (smaller than a pea) and fed it as a treat as instructed. He had the same reaction of salivating and vomiting and couldn't keep the medicine down. Based on some other reviews, I put the wrapped pill in the back of his throat so he couldn't chew. No salivating or vomiting and he even licked his lips.

I didn't end up needing this to wrap pills, but I put some of it inside a toy, and my cats are absolutely frantic for it.

Like the headline says, it worked once really well. Then my cats learned to associate this stuff with the medicine that goes inside it and it has never worked again. Oh well, back to square one trying to get my cats to take their flea medicine.

Read the label/description!!I have been using the little pill pockets for a few years with different cats who have needed medication. I wanted to try a different brand in case my fussy/picky eater decided that yet another flavor of pocket was icky.Today was the day to open the package and to my surprise it looked like it all melted together. Then I checked the label, and this is how it's designed! In the photo, you can see I pinched off a bit to offer my cat.If you are ok pinching off a little every time, this is for you. I will use it up but won't order again. At least he took the pill this morning.

Took a couple of weeks for him to figure them out, now I'm not fooling him anymore.

This would have been amazing if my cat hadn't decided he didn't like it anymore after a week. The texture is great for wrapping pills--sticky yet easy to handle and you can make a very thin wrap. Maybe make a chicken flavor? I think the smokey smell is off-putting to some picky pets.

Super picky dogs. Won't eat chewables that are suppose to taste good....even pill pockets. My Vet gave me a great tip...when handling a pill, you're basically cross contaminating it. If your hands touch the pill and then touch the surface of what you're hiding it in, they will usually sniff it out and refuse it. This stuff works best with small pills. It is pliable like playdough. So, here are my instructions: If it's a capsule, there shouldn't be any smell and hope he/she can't feel in his/her mouth that there's anything in there and hope for the best. If it's a pill, large one...cut up into small parts. scrape residue away. Wash your hands and take the paste and flatten it and press the pill to lift it up. Then wrap the rest of it around it. Small pill, no need to cut and do the same method. The smell definitely masks it this way and is very palatable to my dogs. I gave it 4 stars only b/c it's harder for capsules. Once your dog is onto you for hiding pills into stuff, it makes it more difficult. One dog stopped eating them. The other is still eating it. It is expensive, but when you can't get anything else to work, it's well worth the money.

Works great to cover pills. Easy to use. Takes more than you would expect to cover pills. Dogs seem to like it.

It only lasts for half the jar until it gets hard and looses its odor. I just reorder because it works.
