We've tried off-brand similar products, but our boys don't like most of them and have even walked away from some. Not so with Greenies. We have to actually separate our dogs because if one finishes before the other, there's trouble in paradise because they'll try to steal from each other and they will go wild to protect their Greenies! We had to upgrade our six-month old (14lb) pup to regular size because he was downing the petites in one gulp without chewing.

...and he adores Greenies. He's an 80 lb 100 American English Coon Hound our grand daughter chose for us last year at Santa Fe's no-kill shelter. He likes consistency and he expects his Greenie every morning after breakfast. I've tried other teeth cleaners and he turns his nose up at them. Whatever the folks at Greenies are doing, it works for all of my dogs, past and present, Boxr, Coon Hound, and beagles. They're higher in price than most other brands (except for Whimsees) but they're worth it.

Bella started on greenies when she was a therapy dog and visit in the hospital regularly. No one wants a dog with bad breath, so Bella would get a treat of a greeny before we left the house. She is now retired but continued with the greenies as a treat. Best side effect are her sparkling white teeth that her vet thinks belong to a puppy instead of a 14 year old dog'

They seem to help with teeth cleaning a little bit, but aren't a full substitute for brushing.

This was the best price I found for Greenies. I give my 2 dogs greenies every night as the last treat of the day. They know the routine. Greenies might clean the grinding area of the teeth but you need to use a water additive or brush them to keep the sides clean. My guys love them. The shocker for me was that I ordered them in the morning and they were delivered that afternoon. I was very thankful for that as I was out of them.

Great product. Unfortunately I couldn't give them to one of my dogs because the vet said it raises the liver enzymes and hers were too high, so I shouldn't give this product to her and just once a week for my other dog
