I'm new to making my own cat cables so this can in reel handy. If your new to making your self cat cables save the head aches get this you will be glad you did. So simple to use.

The perfect tool for testing out Ethernet cabling. I just wired my home with CAT 6 and used this tool extensively to check out the integrity of the cable I had run and terminated. Be aware, this is a basic testing tool that will tell you if you have continuity in your cables and if your RJ45 connectors are properly made with the correct wire going to the proper pin. This tool will not tell you if your cable and connectors pass any CAT 5 or CAT 6 standard for data handling speed or crosstalk. That calls for a very expensive tool that you probably don't need unless you are building a data center. I simply check Internet upload and download speeds at my router first, and then at the end of all of my new cables. If it's the same, I can pretty much be assured the new cable I've installed is making it's desired specification.

My tested just got to old and stopped working. I wanted one to work without it breaking the bank. This is a nice priced tool and it works nicely. Does exactly what I need to do is test network cables and connections.

It's a simple device but most reassuring to know your connectors are on correctly. I already found a reversed wire set and I've only used it a half dozen times.

Good tool. I could not find my old set. I like this one way better. It check ground for cat 6a and cat8. Does anybody use cat7?

Reliable and accurate enough for the price. Very compact and fits in nicely with the rest of my tools. My only nitpick is that the carrying case could be a bit roomier for the included Ethernet patch cables. I would buy this again and recommend it for testing when a verifier would be overkill.

If you intend to do cable running cat 5 cat 6 this is a must. Check your wiring before you start laying it then before you close everything up. Very inexpensive way to make sure all is well
