Mission: At Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County we build strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter--the only thing we give away is an opportunity. Our mission is to eliminate poverty housing by building decent, affordable homes in partnership with qualifying families. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Habitat's future homeowners are selected based on their need for housing, ability to repay the affordable mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat by earning 250 hours of "sweat equity" or volunteer time. Through the work of thousands of volunteers and organizations, Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County has built more than 212 homes.

Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County, IN is a 501(c)(3) organization, with an IRS ruling year of 1987, and donations may or may not be tax-deductible.
