It's very strong and fast. Wish it didn't leave such a big snipe section at the beginning and end but the wood comes out so clean, smooth and beautiful otherwise.

If I would have know these were made in china i would never bought it. Someone who answered a question said made in Tiawan, which is false. Why do people need to lie.

Initial review is planer received in good condition...Good packaging. Initial use indicates need to adjust infeed and outfeed tables. More as experience evolves.

Have only used it on one project so far but out of the box it was an easy setup. Milling 540LF of 2x4 down to 1.25 for some custom shutters and it worked flawlessly. Smooth operation, smooth finish. Our longest board milled was 9ft. and we had no snipe on any of the pieces we ran. Very satisfied with this machine after initial use.

Good safety features, easy to operate, and accurate and repeatable. Well thought out design for maintaining and cleaning with screw driver that is stored on the planer, captured screws, and extended screws heads for hard to reach areas. Snipping on ends is unavoidable, but can be minimized by lifting ends. Cut along the grain as manual suggests, but how else was I to learn how easy it was to clean.

must have some type of dust collection set up for this!! NOTE: manual says not to use a shop-vac due to clogging.changing the riving knives is fairly easy, though a bit time consuming! Unfortunately i hit a finishing nail (check both sides of the board) on first project and learned this the hard way :(

I use this quite often, for the money it is a nice planner. I have had three others before this one and so far it seems to be a much better planner and I love how it is able to push the chips away with ease. I hook up a vacuum to it and it stays decently clean of wood chips.

I highly recommend this planer. I researched and this is the best portable planer out there. I had this for a month and I ran about 60 feet rough lumbers and no issues. It has a strong built in fan that you just need to connect the 4inch hose to the planer and a dust bag to collect the wood chips. I saw the setup at Rockler and purchased the bag and hose and just set them up to test the dust collection functionality today and it really works without connecting it to a dust collector or a shop vac. Prior to this setup, I used a shop vac and ran through three 16 gallon dust collection bags. I plan to build a stand for the planer and dust bag later this week.

They weren't kidding about the vacuum dust exhaust, it will blow wood chips some 20 feet when in use. This becomes a problem for most since we have to take it out on the drive way to avoid a 2 day clean up trying to remove all the chips from inside one's garage. This helps, used the suction tube off an old weed eater used to suck up leaves and grind them down and a radiator clamp. It still shoots out 20 feet, but now you can control the wood without having your arm and clothes sprayed down with wood chips.Still working on how to get it to blow into a trash can, stay tuned as this present a little bigger challenge.WARNING: When the knives are new, it puts out a smooth finish without sanding, BUT running hard wood and or wood pallet pieces through will nick your edge. Be fore warned also, carbon tip blades are not cheap

Feed speeds, ease of operation and the three blades generate a smooth surface compared to my old machine. Very pleased with the method of discharging the shavings compared to the old machine. Would purchase again. Excellent value for the money.

I had struggled with an older Craftsmen planer for a few years. I managed to damage a part on the machine that was not repairable (actually could not find the replacement part on line, even Searspartsdirect.com stated they could not find that model number) . So I bit the bullet and bought the DeWalt. OMG, should have spent the money up front and bought this 3 years ago. The power, consistency and quality of the cut is just amazing. I run everything from large lumber down to cutting boards through it. handles it all very nicely

I had an older model of the same planer that worked great for years, it finally needed replacing, so it was a no brainer to buy another one. So easy to set up right out of the box and worked like a charm.
