My old planner was 25 years old and tired. This DeWalt DW735X is a great replacement. I recommend it.

Replaced a 30 year old Craftsman. Just played with so far on some walnut and softwoods - love the accuracy and ease of setting depth. Haven't had a chance to put it through its paces yet. Looks well made - hope it holds up for the long haul.

The setup was fairly quick. I bought the Dewalt accessory table that took a while to assemble. Note there is quite a bit of styrofoam in the box; it would be better if they used cardboard to recycle rather than have to put the styrofoam in the garbage.

Set it up on a table and run your wood through it works great and came packaged in it's own box no damages.

I agonized over which planer to purchase but the dewalt 735 kept coming up over and over again in every review article and everyone I spoke to.Yes it's expensive but the quality is there and the price is very much in line with the quality of the tool.I've seen complaints of snipe but every planer has some snipe.Some people complain about the fan assisted dust port but I personally feel it works great.I would not hesitate to recommend this

There is a good reason, this is the most popular portable planer. Dewalt made a good product with this one. It will move through some serious material. With a sharp set of blades, the finish even on the faster speed is as smooth as sanding. On the slower speed, almost no sanding required. The blower for the dust works extremely well! It will blow chips with force and works well with a hose and bag attached.Negative:-Factory blade life is not great, especially with harder materials.-Heavy, don't expect to move this around much manually.-Loud with standard blades.

This planer is by far the best dewalt tool I have in my work shop. This thing puts out chips like my chainsaw. Make sure you have a proper dust collection system setup for this. Your common shop vac won't keep up.

Best Benchtop Planner on the market. The noise level is high, but all planners have a high noise level. There are two things I would change.1. sell the planner with the option of having a Shelix planer head.2. reposition the Dust Ejection Port so you can fold up the Accessory Folding Tables. The Ejection port is in the way.

This benchtop planer is a great workhorse for its size. The clampdown feature really works well leaving the board smooth from end to end. I would highly recommend this planer. I would recommend mounting it to a bench it's quite heavy but not unmanageable if you need to lift it onto a bench.

Have no issues with use except changing finish.....when you do its hard to get back to 1. Besides that it works great

I'm really impressed with the Dewalt planer. I use a lot of cutoffs and scrap to make jewelry boxes and cutting boards. Most of the wood is too thick for what I want so I use the planer to trim it down. (I used to use my table saw until I cut my finger.) The planer is fast and accurate. (And safe!) I have had problems managing the dust. The planer shoots the wood chips out with such force I haven't figured a good solution to contain them yet. Basically it snows woodchips when I use it. It's also quite heavy. My shop is too small to have more than tool out at a time. I can barely manage to move the planer by myself.
