My 10 y.o. son has purchased and built several of these and this one has been his favorite so far. He liked how it combined many elements of the smaller kits and he appreciated the build quality. Enjoy!

It did not fit together perfectly. I had to glue a few parts in place and two stacked ramps kept moving apart. I finally had to glue the ramps together.

This is a well designed product, with a few faults. Some adjustments will have to be made. Although it says no glue needed, you will need glue. Assemble it without glue first, then you will know where you need glue. The biggest problem I had was in assembling part 13 correctly, and after placing it, having to raise one end to allow it to work properly. You must pay attention to the instructions exactly. I found myself taking a few pieces apart, because I assembled them wrong. There is also a piece i had to add, because the steel balls did not fall onto the track at one point. You won't be able to assemble this quickly. The fun is in making it. Don't be fooled by the video. There are no lights. I would not advice this for young kids, because it takes patients and concentration to assemble properly. The good news is this is not like the old balsa wood airplanes where you would have to use a knife and pieces broke. The parts come out easily without a knife if your careful. Yes it's pricey, but overall well made. FYI, all the A parts are on one sheet of wood, and all the B parts on another....etc.

I have constructed a few of these ROKR models and this was the most fun. Instructions are excellent but there are always those times when I had to take apart a few modules to get them correct. After the basic build, I did spend hours adjusting things and modifying runs in order to get the metal marbles to actually flow or stay on the track. I needed super glue to keep some connections together. Highly recommended for those with building and mechanical skills. Others may become frustrated after a lot of assembly time just to find that the finished product needs quite a bit of customization.

My 14 year old daughter spent almost all day setting this up, 8 hrs. She accidentally broke a piece where the marble would start its spiral and super glue didn't do the trick (because it was no longer flexible). However we got it into it's place and super glued it into a permanent position. The instructions were good, but could have been more detailed. We found that you MUST make sure all pieces are pushed completely down, or your marble won't roll correctly. I am giving 4 stars, as it would have been nice if these pieces were actual wood and not like a particle board.
