Mission: Handi-Dogs began in 1973 to serve the needs of seniors and people with disabilities (we define disability in accordance with the ADA). Independence, freedom and dignity are the benefits that a client receives from training his or her own dog to meet their individual emotional and physical needs. Training builds upon the existing relationship between the owner and their dog, and the bond grows into a working partnership.

Target demographics: People with disabilities.

Geographic areas served: Tucson and Southern Arizona

Programs: Specialized training to people and their dogs to enhance independence and quality of life. We offer Service dog training for people with PTSD, mobility challenges, full or partial hearing loss, diabetes and other disabilities. We also offer courses for therapy dogs - people who want to volunteer by taking their dog to hospitals, hospice, assisted-living, read-to-a-dog programs at schools or libraries, and many other places where people can benefit from the comfort and joy of a happy, well-mannered dog. Classes for the general public include Puppy Socialization, Manners, Fun Hours, and many more.
