The product works, but it's finicky. I have used it many times already and cannot get a decent spiral. Don't expect a spiral like the metal stand alone Apple/potato peelers. You also have to use a small apple too, otherwise a medium apple will keep breaking and you might get circles or half circles.You also have to put even pressure when you twist the apple, otherwise the thickness will vary.The only reason I like this over the standing apple/potato peeler type is that this device allows you to cut the apple and leave the skin on. That is worth it for me
