I had never heard of this book until I was searching for a new book for my 1 yr old. I ordered this book based on the great reviews it had. Since receiving this book, my daughter wants me to read it to her every day. She loves it. Sometimes I read it 4-5 times in a row. She can’t get enough. I highly recommend it. It is sturdy, so she can’t rip it apart and it’s the perfect hand held size.

This was a replacement , I adore this book and give it to all newborn babies , read it to my son when he was little ( he’s 40) and my grandson when he was born !! ACLASSIC . Was even an answer to the Final Question on Jeopardy ! Grammie

To each their own, I guess, but I cannot for the life of me understand why this book is so popular or highly rated. I find it a little creepy and weird. I got the board book and had no problems with the condition of the book, but the story itself is just creepy.

Bought both hardcover and board book . . . hardcover version came w/outer cover, which was thin wrinkled, pages weren't glossy (pages also thin, almost see-thru) expected better quality for price . . . board book version binding spine has gap when opening book to turn pages, illustrations and words are tiny. Kept the board book version only because though it would hold up better for 1 yr old, BUT had to order it twice because first one came scratched and top was peeling on front cover. Also, for those not familiar w/story please note that some pages are in black and white ... page where story says goodnight to mouse .. . mouse is really teeny tiny (in both hardcover/board book) ... and towards the end where story line says goodnight to turn off lights, illustrations were really dark and hard to distinguish. Could've, should've been way better.

The book is wonderful but I bought it to read to my grandson on my kindle, the words are too small for me to see and I cannot enlarge them. So I had to go buy the book as well,

After decades of childcare, I speak as one who not only has the words memorized, but knows where the mouse can be found on every page. This kindle edition was well replicated, and while I find electronic replicates to be poor substitutes for a real book, it is nice to have a portable edition for those times when you need an emergency soothing or sleepy-time story.

Great book, my son loves chasing the little mouse around. The only 'complain' that this is a lap version and is too heavy to hold up in the air everyday before night time... This is how much he loves it.
