Goodnight moon is my sons favorite book! He is two years old and almost 9 times out of 10 when I ask him to go pick out a book for me to read him at night, he picks this book. I have read it to him countless times, pointing the items out to him as we read, and oftentimes he also points the items out. Its such a simple book but 1-2 year olds love it! We used to have the smaller version (regular sized board book), but that one I got it used and it was started to fall apart due to us also using it so many times, so I got him this lap edition since it's his favorite and its large and great. :-)

How can you not love this book. One of my favorites from when my kids were little and I am happy to pass it on to a great grandnephew. The rhythm of the words, the quiet darkening of the book and finding the mouse all were great ways to get the little tykes prepared for bedtime and cultivating a love of books and poems.
