I love this brand of food it is the main part of my birds diet, however the cost here is much higher than from the maker.

It took some time for my budgies to get used to this, but they nibble it now and I mix with Harrison's bird bread, which they love, to encourage them to eat more pellets.

So far so good. Bought this for our very young birds, a parakeet and a dove. Both like it and eat it. We also bought Tops, which they eat also, but they seem to enjoy this more. I was surprised that both of them started eating it so easily. We still feed a mix of seeds, too. The bigger the variety of healthy foods, the better.

My pretty bird is 17 years old and tends to lose weight. I believe Harrison's to be the key to my cockatiel's good health.

My birds don't care for pellet style food and after 20 years I don't think I am going to change their minds. I purchase this and mix it into a cornbread and vegetable treat I make for my African Grey and my Quaker parrot. It's the first thing they both go for in their food bowls so I at least know I am managing to sneak some vitamins and minerals into their daily meal.

I have been trying to transition my parakeets from a seed to a pellet diet. I tried a couple of different less pricey brands prior to buying this one without success. I decided to give Harrisons a try because of the great reviews and people saying that their birds love it. I tried all the different recommended techniques for transitioning my birds, but they want nothing to do with this food. It's way too expensive for the amount that you get. At least my birds enjoy fresh veggies daily as well as fresh fruit a few times a week so I don't feel as guilty about them eating seeds.

This is a great product. I would buy more quantity if it wasn't overpriced on this site.

SIZE: Didn't see any good pictures of the food itself next to a good size indicator. So here it is. The smallest pellets are about 2.5mm and the biggest are right around 3mm. Hope this helps

Get a bigger size for anything bigger than a budgie. Got for a conure and he has difficulty eating it since it's so small. My fault though.

I just have to say that my cockatiel don't really eat it like in seed version BUT he loves it when I grind it and then I put some water on it and it becomes like a thick but soft formula food, he's 5 almost 6 months old now, so he was so used to his formula, I was researching and I found this superfine healthy seeds and I thought that he might likes it because he likes small little seeds, but on the beginning he didn't eat much of it, this food is expensive and it has like 3 to 4 weeks of shelf's life , so I decide to give it to him like a soft pure and he loves it.

My finches were all raised on seed diet. These pellets look like tiny seeds, which I think is part of the reason for success. So here's the thing about this food-- it's high potency. Meaning, it's more nutritionally dense than the others. The bag says only feed this for 6 months then switch to the lifetime food.So if you have a bird that has fatty liver disease, iron storage issues, or is overweight, don't feed this.If you have a bird that is recovering from illness, is underweight, is young and still growing, or is needing to transition to something other than seed, this is great. Otherwise use it in rotation with other foods and pellets. variety is better than eating the same thing every day, no matter what species.

I spent 3 weeks converting my 2 month old budgie from traditional seeds to Harrison's pellets and now he loves them. Initially he wasn't interested in them and would drop them from his break if he picked one up, but now he loves them and eats them well. He still prefers millet and seed over his pellets, but he doesn't avoid them or drop them from his beak anymore. Most importantly, these pellets helped him lose a little bit of excess weight he'd gained from the breeder only feeding him seeds and tons of millet. Now he's a more agile and energetic bird.

My bird won't touch this stuff but I don't know if this is really a fair review of this product as I have been trying to switch my parakeet to this pellet food but he won't touch it. I got my baby parakeet 3 weeks ago but he will only eat seeds vs pellets. I'm going to keep trying and if he eats this product, I'll revise my review.

The ingredients list online is wrong and I have a peanut allergy and realized that these contain peanuts. Ooops. Fix the ingredient list, guys! Our budgie doesn't like them very much. We have to trick him into eating them by mixing them with some millet.
