I bought this for my daughter's birthday. She just turned 10 and has been reading the books and watching the movies over and over again during the last year. She and her brother and sisters really love this game. We play it for hours on the weekends. I try to use this game to help teach my kids strategy as well. While playing, it is sometimes more advantageous to play your cards in one order than another or let somebody else do certain tasks. Since it's Co-op they are also watching out for each other by giving the others hears (healing) or attack/money tokens for their next turns. In that sense, it's fun and kind of educational in a way. There are 7 games (just like the HP books/years) that can be played and each next one builds on the previous years. It gets a little more complicated as you along so you need each other to remember to follow the rules such as all the dark arts/villain consequences or the different bonuses that come later (examples: O.W.L. proificiency, destroyed horcruxes). It's a really cool game
