This game is magical! I bought it for my girlfriend who is a big Harry Potter fan. I wasn't sure if we would enjoy it because neither of us had ever played a deck building game before, but it had us hooked instantly. We played it every chance we got until we had beaten all 7 games, and I'm sure we will play it many more times. Very fun game, and great for people who haven't played a deck builder before.

Family is thoroughly enjoying and looking forward to 34;game nights34; to work up to the next stage. Many (I don't think I can say entirely all) the characters and lore are worked into the game. The rules make sense in the context of the novels so Potter fans will eat this up.

One of my girlfriend's cousins got it for Christmas and we played games 1-4 that day. We all had a great time and I liked it so much I got it myself shortly after. I've played it with my roommates and family members and everyone has enjoyed it so far. I've never played a deck building game before, but this is a good introduction to it. It took us a little bit to get everything setup the first time, but after a couple turns you figure everything out pretty quickly. Each of the 7 34;games34; adds onto the previous game, making it a bit more challenging but also gives you better cards/abilities. Each hero eventually gets an ability that gives them bonuses and pushes them to be a specific role (healer, spell caster, etc.). The difficulty heavily depends on which villains appear at the start. If you get the more powerful villains or get weak cards to choose from in the beginning, you get beat up pretty bad before you get enough cards to be able to deal with them effectively. We lost on game 4 pretty quickly the first time we played it, but the second time it was significantly easier. And the first time we played game 6 we only got one card that was able to remove location tokens (Villains win if all locations are full of tokens) and lost on the last villain. We beat game 6 easily the next time we played. The one thing I dislike is that you have to remove all the cards you got during the previous game when starting the next game. It's frustrating to get the powerful cards towards the end of the game then have to throw them back in the deck after using them maybe once, but it keeps the game difficult and allows you to start the game at any level. Overall it's a great game and I definitely recommend it!

Game is great and my potterhead girlfriend loved it. There are seven scenarios (games) following the events of the books, I would like to see a wider range of different mechanics and objectives as you progress through the scenarios. The game doesn't scale either, so there is no difference in playing with 2 or 4 players (in game setup) thus the game is a lot harder with two players. Still, it's a very solid deckbuilder and it's great because of the gameplay itself not just because it bears Harry Potter's name.

Very fun game. Took us about 3 times playing game 1 to figure out all the rules. I have an 8 yr old and 11 yr old, 8 yr old is a little young for game and needs a little help but not much, 11yr old is perfect and loves harry potter. Follows the books really well. We just beat game 3 and the kids cant wait to start game 4. Each game takes about an hour playing with 3 people. Really not intended for 2 people, would be really hard to beat the games.

We are huge fans of this deck-building game. We got it last Christmas, and have since given it to 3 additional households in our extended family after requests from nieces and nephews. Since the game adapts and grows increasing complex depending on which 34;year34; you choose to play, a variety of ages can learn. While he needs a little help, our 6 year old loves playing years one and two!
