My 75-year-old sister almost died from acute kidney failure following a major flare of autoimmune vasculitis. When I spoke with the doctors, they said she would not be able to keep her pets (two little dogs, two cats) because it would not be safe. She'll be on immunosuppressants from here on out, and exposure to live pets will be too dangerous. I didn't realize there was such a thing as a robotic companion animal for adults, but a friend of ours said she was looking into a robotic dog from Japan. (Yeah, one of those really expensive futuristic plastic ones.) I started researching and watching videos on YouTube, and I thought this Joy For All cat would be perfect for her. Her cats have always climbed up on the desk between her iMac monitor and her keyboard drawer and been a constant presence. Joy For All also has a dog version of this companion pet, but knowing my sister, it will be the cats she misses the most. This kitty can lie on her desk and be responsive to her when she needs it but go to sleep when she's embroiled in work. I just got word my sister's new kitty has been delivered to her home and is waiting for her on the dining room table. She won't be out of rehab for at least a few weeks, but I'm so glad to know she won't be completely alone when she gets back home. I mean, hey, she refers to her Roomba as 34;My manservant, Raul34; and talks to him, so I know she'll be really tickled with this robotic cat. I just thank goodness that these are available. I was really worried that my sister, who has had cats her whole life, was at risk of sinking into a bad depression after all she has been through. But what a great kitty this is! I want one, too!

I love my 34;faux34; cat! It is really cute and lifelike. The motions don't repeat in a pattern, so you don't know if you are going to get a meow or a purr. I have a real cat and we've been having a lot of fun watching them interact. (After a few day, my real cat lost interest and just ignores the toy, but the toy still brings lots of laughs and smiles to me and everyone we show her to.)

My 90 year old grandma has had this a few months and raves about it. The first one didn't purr, so I had to return it. The second works well and is very cute and fun. I knocked off a star because of quality. I keep waiting for the current one to break.

Amazing, this cat is the most wonderful toy in the world for my 91 year old mom that has dementia. She adores this cat and sometimes thinks it is real and cannot understand why it isn't eating. My mom recently had a stroke (she is now fine) and was in ICU for 4 days. When I brought in the cat, the staff was shocked as to how this cat took her mind off of all the wires from their monitoring system that they decided to order several cats for future patients to hold while in ICU.I highly recommend this cat for the elderly. My mom hold, pets, talks to and kisses the cat all the time.

I work as a recreation coordinator in a Long term care center. My residents LOVED the cat. They talked to it, cuddle it and even got jealous when another resident had the cat. Best invention ever.

I wish I could give more stars. She is perfect! So soft and the purring is so nice. She is so cute when she rolls on her back, her bean toes are nice! I got her because someone in my house is allergic and I have never lived without one before, I couldn't ask for a better companion.
