The cat is fantastic company for an elderly person.<br />Even though my mother knows it’s not a real cat, she still talks to it. Also she has always had animals in her home, but in an Aged Care Home, there are no animals, therefore this is the next best thing!

What a fantastic therapy for those with Dementia. When the care home residents saw the cat, there was a near riot because they all wanted to hold it and stroke it a the same time. Things have settled down now. Really great.

Very cat like in looks, movement and meows which if you listen are different, Would recommend this cat for anyone<br />who loves cats but cannot have one for any reason and I am sure that like my husband you will fall in love with it!

This exceeded my wife's expectations 10 fold. You have to remind your self that it is not real. Karen took it to the hospital with her and when the batteries finally died she called me hysterically thinking that it was dead!

My 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter is obsessed with out cat, but her dad is highly allergic to cats. We purchased this for her and she loves it. She sleeps with it and carries it around. Even takes it on the trampoline. Very life like and personable.

My mother’s eyes lit up when she opened the box! She lives in a nursing home and has limited vision but she is able to see her kitty! Looks like the real one she lost a few years ago!<br /><br />Everyone who sees it can’t believe how life like she is! Thank you for a great product!

I bought this for my father who has dementia. My mother has some ADHD and OCD issues and she leaves it in a box in the closet; she says she doesn't want it to get dirty. The truth is she doesn't want a "toy" lying around in the living room. So, unfortunately, my father hasn't been able to interact with it. Hopefully one day she will decide his well-being is more important than a tidy living room.

This cat has help keep the real cat alive at my aunts assisted living home. There are no longer fights over who gets the kitty. We have replaced the batteries 2 times because It is always being used.

I purchased the Robo Cat as a companion for my 96 year old mom who is in nursing home and could not get around on her own. She loved it as did my sister whom I entrusted to bring the cat to mom and all the nurses. Unfortunately she passed away this past Monday just a couple of weeks after receiving the cat. Now this cat will be returned to me per my request and I shall enjoy it knowing that mom held it, hugged it and petted it therefore transferring her spiritual vibes to me 1000 miles away. Miss Jacqueline as I shall name her will help me grieve in a positive way. The fact that she moves, me owns and purrs will be soothing more than a regular possession from mom could ever do.

Bought this lovely cat for my mum who has dementia. She absolutely adores it and loves talking to it and stroking it. Love the fact it can be muted to just purr and not meow.

I purchased this from Hasbro for myself. I do not have dementia, but am housebound and am no longer able to care for a cat. There are things that could stand improvement: the motor is quite loud, the lining of the fur shows through when she turns on her back, and the tail looks oddly attached to the right leg, rather than between the two back legs. Movements are a bit jerky. That said, I find it fun (I collect stuffed animals) and also relaxing to pet until she purrs and meows. If the company improves on this toy, I'd most probably get another. I am satisfied, and think it a good purchase for an elderly person who cannot have a pet, as long as it is handled gently.

The Joy For All Orange Tabby Cat is far and away the best thing I have ever purchased. I bought it for my 95 year old mother who is in the early stages of dementia with memory loss, and she had been suffering from depression, anxiety and loneliness when her husband was out of the house. Since giving her the Joy For All cat, she has improved immensely. She is convinced the cat is real and is rarely seen without it on her lap. She takes it on car rides, away for the weekends, to functions and even in the carry basket of her walker when she goes to the shops! She talks to it and believes it answers her, and even frets that it won't eat. The cat has improved her mood and anxiety to unbelievable levels. I cannot recommend this cat highly enough for the elderly, or anyone who needs a low-maintenance companion. Please keep advancing the technology in future models to make it do more if possible, this thing is GENIUS and worth every cent. Thank you.

Best gift for Christmas yet, after 50 years of cars, minks, rings, this cat was the best. We moved to apartment for travel ease and this cat is so maintenance free I love it, My wife loves it. Five Stars.

Many nursing homes etc. are using these. I bought one to take to adult friends when I visit them in the hospital or a nursing unit and they miss their own animals, especially cats. Children are fascinated by them, too. It is uncannily realistic and I notice that people automatically pet mine even when they know perfectly well it is a robot. A dear friend who is very fragile cognitively loves the cat at the same time that she acknowledges that she knows it's not "real." But it really is comforting, and that is the point. I bought the grey and white cat because it is the twin of a beloved cat I once owned. Funny thing, like most people, those who see the cat, including people who actually know it is a robot, keep referring to it as "she" even when I say that I named it after a male cat I had loved.
