Cannot say enough good things about our cat! I bought this for my husband who's in the early stages of Alzheimer's. He still knows she's not a real cat but we both love her anyway. She opens and shuts her eyes, meows convincingly, purrs, raises her paw and rolls over to be petted. The fur, though synthetic, feels real. The only thing that seems inauthentic is the hard underbelly where you can feel her workings.

I purchased this for my 86 yr old Mom. She has been very lonely since my Dad passed away. She is an animal lover, but unable to care for a live pet. She absolutely loves this kitty.

Purchased this as a gift for my mother in a nursing home and she loved it even more than I hoped she would. Everyone who came in her room loved it too.

This was a Christmas gift for our 89 year old mother, it seemed so real that at first she would jump when the kitty moved! Hah!! She adores it & we know it will be a great companion for her! Very pleased with quality, so nice batteries came with it! Highly recommend!

Reducing review from 5 to 2 stars.<br /><br />Just gave this to Mom for Christmas this morn. I handed it to her (out of box and ready to go). I let her decide what it was. I have instructed her caregiver and other fam members to treat it as a real cat and let her take it wherever she wants. She's talking to it! Petting it! Rubbing it's belly! Calling her friends to tell them what she got for Christmas! Her friends can hear it meowing in the background and ask what the sound is. My mom seems to realize it isn't real, but is treating it as thought it is real. She has already named it! (And based on another review here, tom I will take her to the pet store to select a collar and name tag for it.) It is really realistic. Best Christmas present ever!! Thank you Hasbro. My mom has lost her husband and a dog they used to have. She is no longer able to take care of a pet herself, but is lonely with dementia/Alzheimer's. This is the perfect solution for a companion pet.

I purchased this for my mom because she lives in a nursing home and thought she might like the ability to pet and love a cat. When she opened it she loved it. It was the first time I had seen her give a real smile in a long time. I also loved it myself. These cats are actually very realistic looking. The size is great and they feel pretty good to the touch. The way it lays is also very realistic. This was a good purchase for what it was purchased for. It would not be a toy for a child but I would like it laying on my bed as a decorative touch and it is really soothing to stroke the fur and listen to the purr. If I had to change anything it would be the sound of the MEOW. I would prefer the meow be an actual cat recording and it doesn't truly sound like it is. Its not a bad sound but not totally real. The purring is actually very good and I have had a big cat that sounded very much that way. All in all, I am pleased with it and think mom and I will enjoy it for a long time.

Cute and soft, but my cat had seizures. It also did things like roll on to its tummy but didn’t sit back up. Too independent for me.

There are several animated cats for sale similar to this one.<br />I seriously doubt they could be better than this one!<br />Actions & purring are quite realistic. Eyes look like a real cat.<br />Will have to wait to see how long the batteries work, but for now<br />I am pleased.

Mom has Alzheimer's. This cat is wonderful for her. Sits in her lap and purrs... And she just grins. Even tries to feed it.

Two members of family in home care and loved them.

This was beyond my expectations. I bought this cat for my Mom who has Alzheimer's. She absolutely loves it. So do I as well as the staff at the nursing home. It is so cute and realistic. It has many different sounds and movements. It meows many different ways, it purrs, blinks it's eyes, moves it ears, simulates licking it's paw. It's interactive when you pet it and talk to it. My lights up like a Christmas tree when I bring the cat. It's nothing but a joy and entertainment. I highly recommend it, even for kids.

I purchased this for a friend who worked with hospice patients. She is very good at what she does and we were talking one day about how it was too bad they couldn't have their real pets in the facility. It was so life like and purred just like a real cat! My friend said the residents loved it and it meant so much to them. Worth every penny!

I bought this cat for myself, I am a student and I live on my own and it can be quite lonely sometimes. I absolutely love this cat! The cat is very soft and has a bit of weight to it. It makes it look (and feel) very real. Ofcourse, the real deal is different, but I think this can be very helpful for people who can't take care of a cat or aren't allowed to have one. I bought it when it was on sale during black friday (otherwise it would've been too expansive for me, because I live in the Netherlands)
