Mission: HeARTs Speak's mission is uniting art and advocacy to increase the visibility of shelter animals. We bring fresh, easy-to-implement pet promotion resources directly to animal welfare organizations, partnering with them to achieve their lifesaving missions and helping to increase adoptions. Our programs aim to connect pets with homes faster, while also helping shelters reach their communities in more meaningful ways — building support, recruiting volunteers, and ultimately transforming public perceptions of pet adoption, shelters, and homeless animals.

Results: Artists Helping Animals is our flagship, community-building program, uniting more than 600 creative professionals across the globe, serving 22 countries and 48 states, who provide pro-bono services to save and support animals. Together, they’re contributing more than 16,900 hours of service monthly to animal welfare organizations. Together this might group of creatives impacts around 35,700 animals each month! | The Perfect Exposure Project is a program anchored in collaboration, innovation, and creativity. Through hands-on instruction, animal shelters are given photography equipment, training and inspiration to positively and effectively promote the animals in their care. Since it's inception in 2013 the program has worked with more than 571 shelter staff and volunteers who represent 99 different organizations in 25 cities/locations! Even more importantly, those participants in past workshops will be able to help more than 200,000 animals across the United States every year using the skills they gleaned! | The HeARTs Speak EDU program serves as an online library for content such as downloadable guides, tools and templates, video tutorials and webinars to make photography, social media, adoption promotion, and all-things-marketing available to anyone working or volunteering in animal welfare, no matter their skill set, background or resources. To date, it has approximately 1500 regular users and has experienced more than 8500 downloads of content.

Target demographics: change the way the world sees shelter pets. Our work shines a light on animals in need and improves adoption rates by increasing the marketing capacity of time-stretched, under-resourced animal welfare organizations.

Direct beneficiaries per year: more than 500,000 animals.

Geographic areas served: The United States and globally

Programs: Artists Helping Animals, the Perfect Exposure Project, HeARTs Speak EDU and Images with HeART (a stock imagery library for good).
