Mission: To help warriors relax and reconnect through kayak fishing and the outdoors. Heroes on the Water has helped thousands of our nation's warriors overcome difficulties associated with post traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and the stresses of daily life. HOW empowers veterans and first responders to decompress and reconnect with themselves, their family, and become part of a lifelong community.

Results: In 2019, we provided 5,627 warriors and 1,526 family members a chance to unwind and enjoy the benefits of our kayak fishing program. As a national program, volunteer-led chapters deliver the program in over 30 states. During the life of our program we have supported 47,356 warriors and 12,696 family members. Our team of 36,744 volunteers have provided 389,971 volunteer hours for a total volunteer value of $8,999,009.

Target demographics: Veterans, first responders and their families relax and reconnect.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 5,627 warriors and 1,526 family members.

Geographic areas served: Locations across the U. S. A.

Programs: Kayak fishing in the outdoors. The program is provided at no cost to veterans, first responders or their families.
