As others have said, this is a good product that has a solid fit to DeWalt tools such as the random orbit sander, however DeWalt makes it FAR too hard to find connectors that fit. After searching online, I finally found that the vac hose that comes with RIDGID 1-1/4 in. Premium Car Cleaning Accessory Kit for RIDGID Wet/Dry Shop Vacuums screws in perfectly to the DWV9000. Without this Ridgid part, I would have returned the DWV9000 and the sander.

I bought this adapter for a DeWalt sander. Advertised as a Universal DeWalt to 1 and 1/4 adapter, but the outlet on this part is 1 and 7/8!!! Nothing else in my shop runs on/or uses a 1 and 1 7/8 connection. Don't have time to screw around with returns, so I had to order another adapter part to make this adapter work. Completely wrong part description, as already noted by other reviewers, that nobody seems to care enough to correct/fix. Thanks Jeff. Hope you enjoyed your space trip.

To clear up some confusion, this was designed to screw (counterclockwise) onto hoses that are marketed as 1-1/4 (actual OD 1.59) and attach to the newer DeWalt dust ports that are roughly 1.7 wide and have the 4 notches. Insert it as far as it will go, hold the skinny part with one hand and twist the fat part clockwise with the other hand to lock it.

I've spent two weeks looking at adaptors trying to find the right combination of parts to hook my random orbit sander to my shop vac. I picked up this DWV9000, I picked up the DWV 9190 for 2.5in hoses, I was going to get a 2.5in to 2In adaptor as the next step in this journey of madness. Out of curiosity just tried pushing the the DWV9000 onto my shop vac tube (same diameter as my shop vac hose), to my surprise it fits perfectly. It's a Dewalt shop vac model DXV10P for those interested.Setup: DXV10P - DWV9000 - DWE642

Saw several reviews about fit problems. This worked perfect for me. The adapter clicked on to the sander nicely. The other end was a perfect fit for my Festool vacuum. It did a solid job of collecting dust. I was working outside for several hours and the vast majority of the dust was collected in the vacuum.

Connected a Dewalt DCW210B Orbital Sander to Dewalt DCW581H 2gal Vacuum. 1st Unscrew the vacuum hose nozzle end piece. (Turn clockwise to unscrew). 2nd Insert DWV9000 adapter on the vacuum hose. Connector works.

I have used this for dust mitigation while performing drywall repairs. This connects to the DeWalt random orbital palm sander and collects nearly all of the dust produced. I am working in a furnished basement and have not had to clean up the dust from the two over 24x24 repairs I am working on. It connects securly to the sander and allows the vacuum to pull a suction directly from the sanders base.

This is a perfect secure fit on my Dewalt sander and saw. The twist lock is positive and will not fall off. It does take two hands to put on and take off but once its on it on. No more hose falling off in the middle of a job. I got lucky and the connector screwed right on to my hose, I think its a 1-1/4” hose. It's hella expensive for a piece of plastic but it does work well, if it were $15 I'd say would be the ideal cost. Now I have to get the adapters for my other tools to make this a universal connection for my dust collection.
