Mission: HLC was founded in 2012 to provide emotional and educational support to children and young adults who have or have had a loved one battling ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) or Lou Gehrig's disease.

Results: We have hosted eighteen Camp HLCs across the nation in New Jersey, Indiana, Massachusetts, Florida, and California. We have sent hundreds of Hugs of Hope care packages, which include a t-shirt, stuffed animal, children's book, and signed card from the HLC team. We provide free educational materials, such as children's books, "What Did You Learn Today?" and "The Stars That Shine, " as well as an ALS caregiver guide, "Someone I Love Has ALS. " We hosted the first HLC Teen Retreat in September 2018.We send t-shirts, books, birthday cards, and more. All of our programs are free to families affected by ALS.

Programs: Camp HLC, a 3-day weekend retreat where campers enjoy recreational activities such as hiking, swimming, and fishing, while also learning coping skills and receiving peer support; Hugs of Hope care packages which include a Camp HLC t-shirt, a stuffed animal, a children's book, and a signed card from the HLC team; Family Fun Days; Teen Retreats; educational materials, and more.
