Really simple way to avoid having to carry adapters for 7 or 4 pin trailer connectors.

I bought a used 2016 F250. It had the door broke off the trailer plug. I used it like that and ended up my plug fell out of the socket on the highway, tore my trailer plug to pieces. This part was a direct replacement for the OEM socket. I unplugged the harness, depresses the locking tabs and swapped them out in a couple minutes. I'm very happy I found this part !!

4 months after I bought this, I go to tow a trailer...no brakes. Exactly the same problem I had before. After some troubleshooting I find I have power to the back side from the brake controller (truck side), but no power to the trailer side of the plug. So, I start testing continuity and find there is absolutely no connection through the adapter. Well, there went $35!

Rugged design. Both plug receptacles have strong spring closing covers with rubber insulation on the inside to protect from elements while closed.

Great item overall. I had a 7 way harness only. So I was super excited to have 7 and 4 way plug ins. Plug and play into my OEM harness. Good quality! Screwed to the bottom of my bumper using the self tappers included.

Used this along with hopkins 40985 to give our 2007 Dodge Nitro a factory trailer plug appearance worked great wiring colors included on packaging. Very secure fit in bracket.

I had to replace this on my F150 after someone rear ended my truck and the body shop missed noticing the back wiring connector tab had broken off the plug at that time so didn't replace it. Anyways, it's the exact same product Ford had installed when the truck came new from the factory, even the same branding on it so Ford must use these guys as a parts supplier. The last one lasted for years just fine until it got hit so no complaints from me.

Worked as expected. The mounting bracket was nice, but I wish there were 2 slotted holes for mounting. Direct plug in for my GMC 2500

This multi-tow socket was seemingly identical to my broken OEM socket. The hardest part of the installation was disconnecting the OEM wiring harness from the existing plug...the retaining tab was on top (next to the truck bed) and under a plastic cover. I had to push the whole OEM cable/socket assembly through the bumper hole to a point where I could see the locking tab and figure out how to disconnect it. Going back together with the new socket was a piece of cake. I did not need the included mounting bracket for my application, but it seems well made.

Same thing as OEM just with a different nameplate, and MUCH cheaper price.

Installed on my 1995 Chevy K3500. Serves as a great modern replacement to the old connector I had on before. Wired in the connector with part 40985 and the install was seamless. The included bracket made mounting to the bumper nice, but we shall see how long it lasts. I've seen reviews that say it rusts out very fast.

This unit fits directly into the factory mounting hole right beside the tag. You just have to cut the plastic insert out of the bumper cover on trucks that don't already have the trailer receptacle from the factory. The factory wiring harness plugs directly into the back of this device; no cutting or splicing wires. you just need the CURT 57000 relay kit for proper operation.
