The edges flip up a bit, otherwise its does exactly what they say it does.

This mat works well in my above-ground round Intex pool. There were no instructions with the product but it was pretty easy to figure out how to place it under my steps. So far it has worked as it should.

We have been happy with this now in use for two summers. It does tend to attract the algae?, so you always have to brush/sweep the mat.

Overall it gets the job done. Keeps steps off bottom of pool. Mat is thin, but works. I'm satisfied.
