Mission: We provide therapeutic riding and other equine activities to people with disabilities and those suffering from trauma. Horses are mirrors of the soul and they help others see what is inside – their strengths and abilities to move forward as well as the fear, guilt and limitations they can leave behind. By learning to use and demonstrate their special abilities to connect with horses, our clients are empowered to improve not only their own lives, but the lives of their families and the community as well.
Results: Our start in 2019 was a bumpy one - interrupted by earthquakes, a pandemic, and complete shut down of the economy for 5 months, we relate to the struggles of our clients and continue to make strides moving forward. We have a herd of 5 rescued horses, trained to work as therapy horses. And we have also worked with and trained over 100 individuals and clients in horsemanship, equitation, and equine-assisted activities, provided hippotherapy (speech therapy with horses), and conducted individual and community learning activities to promote better understanding and care for the welfare of horses.
