Mission: The Houston Public Media Foundation (formerly known as the Association for Community Broadcasting) serves to secure the financial future of Houston Public Media, which provides informative, thought-provoking and entertaining content through a multi-media platform that includes TV 8/PBS, News 88.7/NPR and Classical and reaches a combined weekly audience of more than 1.5 million.

The Houston Public Media Foundation assists HPM staff with fundraising efforts, including personal gifts of support, Board members going on calls with staff, writing letters of support and serving as ambassadors for public broadcasting in the community on a local and national level. The Houston Public Media Foundation also is involved in many special events and activities that help raise funds for Houston Public Media. Board members secure sponsorships and auction items, sell tickets and serve on committees while regularly attending events for Houston Public Media.

Houston Public Media Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, with an IRS ruling year of 1970, and donations are tax-deductible.
