Mission: Empower. Lead. Excel. HOBY's Mission:To inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. For over five decades, Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) has inspired young people to make a difference and become catalysts for positive change in their home, school, workplace, and community. As America’s foremost youth leadership organization, HOBY has a long and impressive history of successfully motivating youth and volunteers to outstanding leadership. HOBY aims to inspire and develop our global community of youth & volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation. HOBY Far West Texas concentrates on the El Paso County area and near by cities.

Results: Our alumni completed 80% the 100 hour challenge (leadership for service) project that the national HOBY program encourages every graduating ambassador to achieve. Our FWT chapter sorted and organized an outstanding amount of food for the El Pasoan's fighting hunger foundation. HOBY FWT is recognized at the site, our seal with our logo hangs inside the foundation. Our alumni have set up several HOBY outreach sites at YISD and SISD high schools. Our alumni have volunteered for the fourth of July parade in 2015.HOBY has volunteered for the miracle league helping individuals with disabilities in 2009.HOBY has rung the bells for the Salvation Army from 2008-2010.

Target demographics: empower sophomore high school students . By developing their knowledge of forward thinking and concept of leadership.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 70 ambassadors and helped clean the storing warehouse for The El Pasoans fighting hunger food bank.

Programs: The HOBY FWT seminar. HOBY invites guest speakers to talk with HOBY ambassadors and emphasis points regarding personal leadership, group leadership, and societal leadership. The seminar hosts group activities for ambassadors which further develop critical thinking skills and communication. After each annual seminar ambassadors are welcome back to be apart of the HOBY FWT alumni. The HOBY FWT alumni continues to actively volunteer locally.
