I am giving this unit a great rating. It is still going strong into its 5th year of central Texas heat. It cools my room down to below 70 degrees in no time so I can sleep. I run it nightly for about 5 months out of the year. There is a lot of humidity it has to deal with here so it pulls out a lot of water out of the air that you have to dump out during peak months. It throws a code that the tank is full when it is really not, but after almost 5 years of freezing cold air during the horrible Texas heat that is a small payoff. Black and Decker has good customer service and I will continue to buy their products.

I have bought 2 of the 14000btu heater units, and found out that during a freeze, the room has be above 45deg F for the heater to work. It says this in the manual, which i had to read when i thought the unit was broke, lol. We've not had any issues with the heater when used in the right environment, and the air-conditioner has worked well too, for over a year.

I wrote a very long review but I got exited out and decided not to not write it again. All I'm going to say is yes, the product can use a extension cord but make sure it's 10 or 12 gauge. 10/10 for me.

Bought in the spring before summer. Used all summer worked fine keeping room cool. Now winter for heat it started out fine but now it says temperature at 78 but room is reading at 65.. and we are just using it for a bedroom ... It now makes a terrible noise and shakes bad turning off. Don't buy!!!

I find the noise, which isnt much noise, very comforting....... As lo ng as it continues to keep working good and does its job, Ill be one happy person! I use the fan all year long! The sound helps me to sleep and relax.
