Assembly was fairly easy, and I have a window that slides open horizontally rather than the vertical example seen in the product pictures. It cools my bedroom down very well, and I’ve had no problems with the remote. It does get a little noisy, which is especially noticeable when it kicks on and off as it cools the room to the desired temperature. But you get used to it and I actually kind of enjoy having the white noise.One thing I’d add is that this is meant to cool ONE room, nothing more. My office is right across the hall from the bedroom, and even when both doors are open, the bedroom stays cold but the office is hot.All in all, great product and well worth the money assuming it lasts us a decent amount of time.

I have a 1.5-story house, which means my entire upper floor is my bedroom and the rest of the house is on the lower floor. This air conditioner cools off my bedroom and the cooler air comes down the stairs to slightly cool the lower floor (at least, it makes it less humid!). The remote is a nice feature; however, I find that when I use the remote to turn it off, upon turning it on again, it defaults back to 75 degrees. Weird but not terribly inconvenient. Also, it is very easy to install and uninstall, nowhere near as difficult as the old window-mount air conditioners. It has wheels to roll it wherever you need to store it. It is heavy and awkward, so if you plan on bringing it up and down any stairs, you will need help. I definitely recommend this product.

The bada little noisy and it did increase our electricity bill. the good?? soooo worth it. it cooled down our room quickly and made this summer bearable (yay fall!) it is small enough that it hid out of the way under a curtain. i don't know why I didnt get one sooner!!

More compact and quieter than my previous unit. Not a huge concern, but the touch pad for the temperature and functions is very sensitive. It has worked well all summer.

As someone who works nights this is a game changer. It is not too loud but loud enough it acts like a white noise machine. Filter is easy to clean and remote works great. I love that I can have it pointed right on me so it feels like the arctic in my room. Pair this with black out curtains and it's night shifters bliss.

Unreliable product. The hose frequently disconnects. Lou's and doesn't cook a 1 bed room. Very disappointing

Honestly I read the bad review and the good review but I didn't expect to be too loud but after a few days you are more adapted. But I do not recommend this air conditioner because also sometimes stop Cooling at nite.

This was a lifesaver when my air conditioner went out this summer. you have to stay in a small bedroom, but you won't die of heat. My AC was out almost 3 weeks and luckily this thing helped a lot. It's currently in one of my RVs

This unit was working well until August 19. Leaking profusely from side vent. Black and Decker has been notified by live chat, multiple emails and phone calls with no response. Very disappointed in this company.

I bought two of these for my new small basement apartment and they work very well with cooling their rooms. The water is not a huge deal, I set up a small bucket next to the unit and just allow it to drain freely. I empty the bucket everyday but it's not a lot of water at all. I found that the exhaust hose connects to the plastic frame the most securely when the lips of the frame are pointed inside rather than outside. The remote doesn't quite work as expected when it comes to changing settings in temperature but it does turn the unit on and off which in itself is very valuable. I am overall very satisfied with my purchase.

Keeps our bedroom cool to keep from cooling the whole house at night saving a small fortune. It is a strong fan and makes it noisy. I do not have double hung windows so had to put in a drier vent through the wall to use correctly.

We have a very large loft and this unit cooled the entire space very well and very quickly! It is a bit louder than a window unit but it runs very smoothly. It was easy to set up and the plastic window for piece can be cut to size if needed as we had a very small window. Definitely recommend this unit!

My home office is in a back bedroom and was always 6-8 degrees warmer than the rest of the house in the summer. This unit solved that problem! Setup took reading the instructions and about 25 minutes, but it wasn't difficult. It's a bit loud when on video calls and sounds clunky at times, but it works really well!
