This one is a little different but I haven't noticed a difference. I had to use an impact gun to get the old ones out but installation was easy.

Was a easy replacement. I ordered the Camco Residencial Water Heater Element Wrench as well and would definitely recommend spending the $7 on it. Made the Jeb very easy for my old elements and didn't have to worry about stripping them with a crescent wrench. My only issue (it's my fault) is I didn't order the kit with covers because it was going to take an extra day to receive and I planned to use my old ones. The didn't fit the new thermostat but I was still able to make them work. If your not in a rush I'd just order the kit with the covers. Other than that I'm considering having a kit on hand just incase.

My hot water heater suddenly stopped having sufficient hot water. I talked to my uncle - who lives on the opposite side of the country, and who can fix anything. He told me we could try changing the elements, and how to do it...before deciding to replace the heater. My husband and I have zero experience being handy...but we were able to do this...and no more hot water issues. Even if it only lasts a few years., it is worth it.

Hello,My water heater was not heating water. The controllers where replaced by this product. From all intensive purposes, this product looked to be good. When installing the cover plates to prevent electrocution, the front face of the lower element came off. The glue joints failed. I had to re-Super Glue the joint again. This means that the Product QC is not sufficient to operate as required.

Although the price was good, the thermostats are defective, it overheats until the red button pops out. I put the old ones back in.

They were the wrong heating elements even though it states on the product they are made for General electric product guarantee fit. Not mine it didn't.
