I have a old entry door with a mortise lock. Took out the old cylinder and this screwed right in. Problem solved! I can finally come in my front door!!

Screw out and screw in. And,, having the strike numbers on each key makes getting mail order duplicates from a vendor like Atlantic locks a snap.

Great replacement for my old lock system. Seems to be solid brass which is very good (some are just coated). Installed in the 1950s location and works well.Thanks!

I had a very old door with one key that no local locksmith or big box store could duplicate (No one still had the blanks for my key). Saw this, and easily installed to solve the problem. Perfect fit, attractive appearance, and feels like a heavy duty well made cylinder, especially for a very reasonable price. A definite win.

We bought a house built in the 19th century and the front door lock is a very old mortise type lock. After reading other reviews that said this cylinder worked on old locks I decided to give this a try as the price is very good. And it works! Very simple and easy to install. The only tools I used were a screwdriver and pliers. 1) remove set screw from side of door; 2) use pliers to unscrew the old cylinder and remove it; 3) using a small screwdriver, remove the cam (I think that's what it's called) from the original cylinder; 4) using same screwdriver, remove the cam from this new cylinder; 5) screw the old cam into the new cylinder; 6) place the new cylinder into the original lock location and use pliers to tighten and until the key position is straight up and down; and 7) replace set screw. That's it! Took about 5-10 minutes and works perfectly.
