Imlak'esh Organics, Golden Berries are different from your typical dried berries snackfood in a couple of different ways, the most obvious being that usually a snack packet with dried fruit will contain pieces of dried berries or other fruit like apples and apricots that are naturally sweet but that's definitely not the case with Golden Berries which are incredibly sour. The package boasts that they are Nature's Sour Candy so Imlak'esh Organics is trying to avoid any unpleasant surprises for people who purchase them. These Golden Berries are incredibly sour. Some people love sour flavor and will enjoy these out of the package. These are sour enough that when I sprinkle them on my unsweetened cereal they completely dominate the flavor of the cereal even when swimming in milk.People who either want to eat these because of their health benefits or just like contrasting flavors will probably want to sprinkle Golden Berries on top of sweetened cereal, ice cream, pancakes, etc--you get the idea.According to the product page, Golden Berries are full of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Kerotine, iron, fiber, and protein and are good for both digestive and urinary health. The package itself doesn't say any of that as far as I can tell but there's a white sticker on the bottom left corner on the back that I haven't been able to remove so maybe it says something there. The back of the package does say that Golden Berries are bursting with vitamins minerals. On the back of the package, the one and only ingredient listed is organic golden berries which is likely another reason these are so sour. The package also says Imlak'esh Organics Golden Berries are certified Kosher and vegan by Earth Kosher and certified organic by OCIA.I think this is a good product but it is a little pricey. A single package for $5.79 contains two servings according to the nutritional chart but at 2oz someone eating these as a snack would very likely eat the entire package at one sitting. If the price isn't a deterrent then this is a healthy snack--especially if you like sour flavor.
