agriculture for food and nutriution: program seeks to improve the nutrition and health of poor people through agriculture while mitigating the risks posed by diseases that are spread through food and water, and those passed from animals to humans (zoonotic diseases). Agricultural practices, interventions, and policies can be better adapted and redesigned to maximize health and nutrition benefits and to reduce health risks.

climate change, agriculture, and food security: program seeks to overcome the threats to agriculture and food security in a changing climate by exploring new ways of helping vulnerable rural communities adjust to global changes in climate and address the most important interactions, synergies and trade-offs between climate change and agriculture. Research addresses agriculture in the context of climate variability, climate change and uncertainty about future climate conditions.
