Founded in 2003 by a team of respected experts in hyperhidrosis research and patient care, the International Hyperhidrosis Society (IHhS) is the only independent, non-profit, global organization working to improve the quality of life among those affected by excessive sweating. The organization’s mission is to reduce the symptoms, anxiety, and social stigma associated with excessive, uncontrollable sweating by improving the information, support, care and treatments available to the millions of hyperhidrosis sufferers worldwide. As part of this mission, the IHhS conducts and collaborates on hyperhidrosis research, educates healthcare professionals in optimal, up-to-date hyperhidrosis diagnosis and management practices, raises awareness about the condition's emotional, economic, and life impacts, and advocates for improved patient access to effective treatments. From individual sufferers and clinicians, to pharma, biotech and regulatory bodies, the IHhS creates a hyperhidrosis community of collaboration and cross-pollinating that results in meaningful improvements in hyperhidrosis diagnosis, care and understanding.
