The International School inspires children to become global citizens by providing a rigorous and comprehensive education within a nurturing, student-centered environment of full immersion in multiple languages and cultures.

Direct beneficiaries per year: nearly 500 students learn Spanish, Chinese and Japanese from natively-fluent teachers.

Geographic areas served: Portland OR metro area

Programs: total immersion in Spanish, Chinese & Japanese for preschool through fifth grade. Children become fluent in another language, at home in other cultures, and engaged in math, science, social studies and the arts. The school's inquiry-based International Baccalaureate program teaches children to solve problems, collaborate, and take responsibility for their own learning.
